Recover your dreams (Day 18)

imageRecover your dreams …

The dream that has felt stolen time after time. The one you no longer dare to dream. The dream you’ve put on the shelf and tried to forget about.

But He hasn’t forgotten and He has been reminding you about it again. Time to take it down from the shelf, time to dust it off, time to dare to dream again ….

In Luke 1 we read of Zechariah and Elizabeth who “were childless because Elizabeth was not able to conceive, and they were both very old.” Luke 1:7 NIV

But an angel appeared to Zechariah and “said to him: “Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to call him John.” Luke 1:13 NIV

Your prayer has been heard.

Bill Johnson explains that a more accurate translation of this verse is ‘I have heard the prayer you no longer pray’.

What’s the prayer you no longer pray? The one that seems totally impossible. The dream that has never gone away. The one that you’ve longed for but felt you’ve endured disappointment after disappointment.

God has not forgotten the desires of your heart. He planted those desires. But He does not want those very dreams to become a nightmare so He knows the development of your heart is essential.

Remember Joseph’s dream. His circumstances seemed to take him further and further away but they were actually moving him closer. Those prison times were preparation times.

Sometimes you face difficulties in life, not because you are doing something wrong, but because you are doing something right.” #BIOY

Don’t give up.

Pursue. Overtake. Recover.

Dare to dream again.
